The affordable watchmaker taps a respected EDC brand from Japan for a military-coded take on the Expedition.

Timex’s ties to the military go back decades, when the brand joined the likes of Hamilton in producing small, cheap, general-purpose field watches under the US specification MIL-W-46374B.

Today, most people simply refer to that timepiece as the Camper, which now leads a double life as a sleeper Hollywood watch:

MacGyver famously wore one, and so, too, did Josh Brolin’s character in No Country for Old Men.

But it’s far from the only Timex with military pedigree, at least as far as Briefing is concerned.

Available now via Briefing’s website, the Timex x Briefing Expedition Field Watch costs $385.

It arrives with a cobranded caseback and unique storage box. At the time of writing, the product page reads “low stock.”
